Recycling Bins at Rocky Face Food Lion Removed

(Dalton, GA, March 5, 2015) –  The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority has removed the yellow and green recycling bins that were located in the parking lot at the Food Lion in Rocky Face on 2709 Chattanooga Rd. The bins were used to collect mixed paper, aluminum beverage cans, and plastic bottles and jugs for recycling. Residents are encouraged to drop off their recyclables at the Westside Convenience Center (also known as the Westside Transfer Station) located at 1536 Miracle Dr. in Rocky Face.  This location is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and is open from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturdays.   For directions visit www.dwswa.org, or call 706-673-5895. 

The Westside Convenience Center provides free recycling opportunities for mixed paper, flattened cardboard, plastic bottles, jars and jugs, glass bottles and jars, aluminum beverage cans, and bi-metal cans.  Other recyclable items accepted include scrap metal, used vehicle batteries, rechargeable batteries, used motor oil, and yard trimmings.  Bagged household garbage is accepted from Whitfield County residents at no charge with a limit of ten bags per trip.  Bulky waste, such as furniture and mattresses, are accepted with a $5.00 per item charge. Used tires are also accepted for a small fee with a limit of four per trip.
