PUBLIC NOTICE

A moratorium on solid waste generated outside of Whitfield County went into effect August 15, 2022, and will continue indefinitely. This moratorium prohibits the disposal of waste generated outside of Whitfield County.

The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority, located in Dalton, Georgia, provides waste management services for commercial and residential customers in Whitfield County which are listed in the 'Programs' menu above.  Not only does the Authority manage a landfill, there's actually a Materials Recovery Facility that has allowed our community to recycle more than ever.  Add environmental education to the mix and you'll find that there is a whole lot happening here.
